Solustiq, a pioneering software and artificial intelligence firm based in Turkey, has positioned itself as the country’s first vertical AI company specifically dedicated to revolutionizing the global travel and tourism industry. With its headquarters in Edirne and additional offices in Istanbul and Dubai, Solustiq is focused on developing the essential AI infrastructure that the world’s largest service industry has been lacking. The travel and tourism sector significantly contributes over $11 trillion to the global GDP and employs one out of every ten workers worldwide, yet it continues to lag in technological advancements. Unlike the general-purpose AI solutions that are frequently in the limelight, Solustiq is part of an emerging wave of “vertical AI” companies. These startups are crafting AI products that cater specifically to the intricate workflows, data structures, and regulatory requirements of individual industries.

Solustiq’s approach diverges from the typical single-product software-as-a-service (SaaS) model, as it offers a diverse portfolio of AI-driven products aimed at different layers of the travel technology stack. Among its offerings are DataGreat, an AI market intelligence platform with over 38 specialized modules for competitive research in travel and hospitality, and SkilledAgents, a no-code platform that enables travel agencies to create their own AI agents for booking and customer service tasks. Additionally, Solustiq has developed VibePy, an AI code generation engine that facilitates the rapid development of FastAPI backends, and Vuln0x, an AI penetration testing platform designed to protect the cybersecurity of travel and hospitality clients handling sensitive personal information. All these products are built on a foundation of domain-specific training data and incorporate industry-standard protocols such as OCTO and TURSAB-compliant frameworks.

Solustiq’s vertical AI strategy is not just theoretical; it has been practically tested and proven in the field. The company’s sister operation, Safaryar Holidays, serves as both a customer and a testing ground for its platform. As a TURSAB-licensed B2B hotel wholesaler and destination management company based in Istanbul, Safaryar and its network of agency partners across Europe, the Gulf region, and Central Asia regularly utilize Solustiq’s tools, providing valuable real-world feedback that accelerates the platform’s development and refinement.

According to Alper Tekin, Solustiq’s Founder and CEO, three primary factors make 2026 a pivotal year for the adoption of vertical AI in the travel sector. Firstly, legacy Global Distribution Systems (GDS) like Amadeus, Sabre, and Travelport are facing unprecedented challenges from AI-native infrastructure providers. Secondly, the cost dynamics of custom software are shifting, enabling smaller travel agencies to access AI solutions at SaaS pricing. Lastly, regulatory changes in the EU and Turkey, such as Turkey’s Cybersecurity Law 7545, are pushing for modernization in the travel industry’s infrastructure, which older systems struggle to accommodate. Tekin emphasizes that the choice for the travel industry is not about whether to adopt AI but about selecting between industry-specific vertical AI and generic horizontal AI solutions.
