In a recent meeting held in Ankara, Türkiye and Saudi Arabia made strides towards enhancing their partnership in judicial matters. Turkish Justice Minister Akın Gürlek and his Saudi counterpart, Walid bin Muhammad Al Samaani, engaged in discussions aimed at expanding their collaboration in various legal domains, including judicial reforms and digital justice initiatives.
The talks underscored the mutual goal of fortifying legal systems and fostering cooperation aligned with Türkiye’s “Century of Türkiye Vision” and Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030. Both countries see the significance of this collaboration in building stronger judicial frameworks, which can serve as a foundation for future advancements in legal practices and governance.
Türkiye showcased its National Judiciary Informatics System (UYAP) as a model for judicial digitalization, offering to share insights and experiences in this arena. This includes expertise in utilizing artificial intelligence for legal services, bolstering cybersecurity measures, and implementing alternative dispute resolution mechanisms. The proposed exchange of knowledge aims to enhance judicial cooperation between the two nations.
Moreover, the ministers recognized the benefits of increasing interactions among legal professionals from both countries. They agreed that such exchanges would not only strengthen bilateral relations but also contribute to more efficient and modern justice systems. By fostering direct cooperation, they hope to improve access to justice that is both effective and contemporary.
